This talk will focus on the complex employment status of physicians in Canada that leaves them vulnerable to exploitation, the gender power gap and how women in medicine can empower themselves.
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
Identify how the Canadian legal system classifies physicians as workers and what employment rights physicians have.
State how to advocate for yourself legally and protect your rights as a worker in the medical system.
Recognize how the gender power gap works in medicine and what can be done to close the gap.
