Jake Wright

Jake has a BSc in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo along with advanced certifications in nutrition, joint mobility, boxing, and strength and conditioning.


He started his career as a trainer over 15 years ago and is experienced with a very diverse clientele including professional athletes, busy professionals, newly postpartum moms, and more.

 

More recently, Jake has developed The Canadian Women Physicians Fitness Community.  In four years, the program has grew from 35 members to over 500 simply through word of mouth.  This speaks to the program’s flexibility, giving members the tools to design a sustainable wellness solution that is adaptable to the demands of their life as physicians.

Tune in with renowned Canadian Women Physician’s Fitness Community online trainer, Jake Wright, BSc, where he will break down the principles of how to optimize human movement. During this session, you will discover the ins-and-outs of how to avoid injury, what to do when it occurs, how to move pain-free, and how to build functional strength to enhance your everyday life for years to come. Jake will help demystify any confusion about what exercises are best for your goals. You will leave with a clear-cut understanding of what to focus on with your fitness efforts in order to take them to the next level.  

*Please bring a yoga mat and workout clothes, shoes are optional*

  • Identify the biomechanics of how injuries occur

  • Apply movements to minimize risk of injury during exercise

  • State strategies for return to play following an injury

  • Name the 7 primal movements to build full body strength, safely and effectively

  • Explain how to perform these 7 movements with proper technique
